Station and Antenna Gallery

SHACK

The station I am running is a typical urban location one, with a lot of limitations regarding antennas and usage of high power. Therefore it is not suitable for serious contesting, but fortunately good enough for daily DXing, which I enjoy a lot.

My station is located in the middle of residential area of the city of Olsztyn ( close to 200.000 inhabitants ), with two small 7m towers on the top of 4-floor residential buliding, where I live. The antennas are ca. 8-10 meters over the roof and total of 23-25 m AGL.

Over the last 25+ years my station setup evolved a lot. I began with home-made TRX running barefoot 100W into 10/15/20m vertical and home made equipment for digital modes. The changes over this period of time included both antennas ( vertical, Cushcraft A3S, Cushcraft X7 beams ) and transceivers ( Sommerkamp FT-277, Kenwood TS-440S, Kenwood TS850S ).

After recent ( 2006 ) cleanup and renovation, the current station consist of:

Transceivers:
Yaesu FT-2000
Icom IC-7000 ( backup rig )

Antennas:
Tower 1: Optibeam OB16-5 Yagi for 10/12/15/17/20m
Tower 2: Optibeam OB2-40M Moxon Yagi for 40m + Optibeam OB1-30 rotary dipole for 30m
Dipole antenna for 80m

Amplifier:
Acom1000

Digital shack:
2x MicroHam MicroKeyer
2x PC computer

You can find the pictures of both shack
and the antennas in the galleries here.
