ABOUT ME

I have been licensed radio-amateur since 1972, originally as SP4FQX which I later changed into SP4KM. Being a graduate of Warsaw University of Technology and The National Maritime School in Gdynia I am spending also my professional life in the field of radiocommunications, for the last 15 years within various agencies of the State Telecommunications Administration.

In 1988 I have conducted the first ever FAX mode QSO in SP. In 1991 have taken part in an introduction of amateur Packet Radio mode in Poland. Finally, in 1992 I have been a leader of 3Z4PAR experimental team that conducted the first ever legal 50 MHz QSOs here in SP. I have also been appointed as the official Observer to the subsequent IARU Region 1 conferences ( 1993 to 2003 ).

 

I am a member of Polish Radioamateur Society ( PZK ) and the overseas member of ARRL. For the last 20 years the main focus of my amateur activities is digital modes DXing and the DXing in general. I am present holder of ARRL DXCC #1 Honor Roll ( Mixed ) and prestigious ARRL DXCC Honor Roll for RTTY ( more on that one on RTTY DXing page ).

I am happily married to Teresa ( SP4EE ), have two sons – Chris ( SP4K ) and Mariusz ( SP4PP ).
